Samsung Inks OneNAND Licensing Deal with STMicroelectronics

Samsung and STMicroelectronics have reached a licensing agreement, under which STMicroelectronics will be using Samsung's OneNAND flash memory in its products from early 2007. OneNAND's architecture pairs a single-level-cell NAND core with SRAM and logic elements to emulate NOR Flash interface. It can achieve a read and write speed of 108Mbps and 10Mbps, which is expected to improve considerably the boot and application launch in mobile phones and PCs.
